Raven: “Just because I wear eye-liner, doesn’t mean my character always has to be a weirdo”.

       In 2005, Triangle Choke Productions, an upstart Pro Wrestling and MMA merchandiser, sat down with Raven to conduct a “shoot interview” that they planned on calling “Crows”. The company has since folded and the interview was never released. Recently, PRWN obtained a copy of the rough, un-edited footage.
       Raven and his interviewer never got around to talking about anything of too much significance as only one session, of what they planned to be many, ever came to be. We did, however, want to mention one thing that we found to be of note.
       The wrestler talked at length about his constant unhappiness towards the way his character has been built over the years, at one point saying: “Just because I wear eye-liner, doesn’t mean my character always has to be a weirdo. I guess I’ve always just wanted to be like the Dusty Rhodes that happened to wear make-up”.
       Currently, Raven is in TNA Wrestling, where his character is a sadist and cult-leader who gets off on punishing young men for no reason in particular. We wish the former NWA Champion all the best.
